need info on model 12

Postby plainsman » Tue May 02, 2006 9:09 am

I'm looking for the man. date on a model 12 can find a sn# lookup any where
From what I've been told;
gun is 90%
12 guage
3"
30-32" barrel
full choke
serial number is 1624111
My go-between tells me he's seen "Super" stamped on it, so I'm assuming it's a super field grade?????
Any info would be very much appreciated . Thanks

I put it in the database and it said the number was too low and was out of range. Don't know what to tell you. Sorry.

the book i am looking at says it was manufactured close to 1956-57.

does it have any special checkering or grooves on the stock or slide and what type of buttplate does it have? these may help identify better. The sn and barrell length puts it in the catagory of the heavy duck gun, standard or field grade and possibly trap. There are many different configurations. With more info I will do my best to help ID for you.

Not a trader, just an oldtimer who's thinking about selling it. He bought it in 1959 and it's been barely used. From what I've been able to determine, it's a heavy duck gun.Date is 1957 with 30" barrel......I think I'll pass and concentrate on the sweet 16 instead.

Dang, I wish I lived next door to that guy.

I'd buy it from him in a minute. I've wanted a Model 12 from that time period for years.

Oh well. I live in the PRC so I might never find one.
All this for a bowl of borscht.
