I use my SBE with the wallnut stocks for my everyday shooter. Love that gun. I did crack the grip on the shotgun, I fell on it getting out of a boat. I think it would have been worse, had it been a synthetic.
But getting to your point, I don't know why we don't see as many SBE II in wood out there. I've handled them in stores, seem like fine pieces. Couple months ago, I won a SBE II in a raffle. I tried to get the owner of the club that hosted the dinner, to trade in the synthetic for a wood stocked gun. He said he'd do it for another $300. I passed and have one in synthetic...
When comparing prices, they are the same. I have no idea why, he wanted another $300. I'd think the guys like you and me, that think a shotgun has stocks made of wood, are out there, and would buy a SBE II.
