Browning Auto-5 12ga. 3" magnum with usually modified choke.

Ducks: Kent fasteel 3" #2's 1 1/8oz.

Geese: Estate Cartridges Magnum 3" BB or BBB 1 3/8oz.

Sometimes I pull out the old Ithaca Mod 37 12ga 2 3/4" modified and use Tungsten Matrix #1's on ducks. I don't hunt with this shotgun enough to purchase other sizes of shot due to the cost of these shells.

win. 1400

Postby tastieanimals » Fri Dec 31, 2004 5:33 pm

I shoot a win. 1400, old but it works. This gun will only shoot 2 3/4 so I go with it. It kills them all I just know my limits with it. Great gun that I dont have to worry about hurting. ducks I shoot 4s and geese Ts. Kill them and grill them.

I shoot ducks & geese. For ducks I grab either the Wetherby SAS Synthetic or the Browning Gold. For the honky tonks I grab the Gold 10 semi-auto, Browning BPS 3.5, or the Beretta A391 Xtrema 3.5. If I was to be buried with any of my firearms? I suggest ya'll better get another man to help you load up the brownings and wheelbarrow them on in.

I just bought a rem. 1187 spec. 28 in. barrel. anything you can tell me about chokes. i have been shotting a mos. 835 24 in barrel and do very well with it with 3.5 #3's. but i cant kill geese with it they fly away even at 20 yards with all three shots. so i tried to change my choke to full for geese but it is stuck good. so i bought that rem. i have never shot it yet but i will these morning. please let me know how you like your 1187.

thanks

I shoot a Benelli SBE2 with a short range Patternmaster choke for close in shooting up to 30 yards and medium range Patternmaster for shooting from 30-45 yards. I have had good luck with the Federal Ultra-Shock Heavy High Velocity (1450 fps) in #2, 3 and 4.

I shoot a Browning B25 UO choked full/IM use Eley Grand Prix Bismuth 4's or 6's for ducks 3's for geese. When the ducks are close I switch to a Browning Citori UO choked IM/IC with Remington steels 2's or 4's for ducks 1's for geese the steel is a lot more economical than the Bismuth. Both guns have 23/4" chambers your heavy magnum cartriges are far to expensive here in Australia and we have not been alowed to own pumps or auto's since 1996
