My SX3 in black has held up 3 seasons in saltwater and still looks like new. It has some kind of Duratouch coating or something, just black. Camo is for the eye, not for the ducks. Why do you think the companies keep bringing out new camo patterns every year? Like wives and shoes.

Tell that to the military.

You could say the same thing about black guns, and not be any further from the truth: black guns are for the Chad Belding wanna-be's who have to have the "bad-azz duck hunter" persona. Black guns are definitely "not for the ducks".

When our asses were on the line, our guns were black. Has that changed?

Was bugging me that no one's put such a slow fat one out of the park, so I googled Belding:

Nope. Only 3-1/2"s my SBEII has ever seen was breaking it in. I see no need in them except maybe geese. Piss on getting pounded by the 3-1/2's all morning

I'm a camo gun guy, for the rust protection though. 3" is what goes through it almost exclusively, but I'd use 2 3/4" if it were cheaper than the same offering in 3". I'm probably an exception though.

Most fellas that shoot camo guns wear Black Hoodies ? Instead of staying in the blind , they walk around hollering at
other guys trying to work birds . Don't tell anyone but , they use spinners too ! Lot's of them .

Yep. Birds don't shoot back at you.

I have black, blue, and camo shotguns...Ironically I almost never use the camo one. Someone is DYING to hear that they HAVE to buy the camo one. Don't ask us for opinions if you have one already and aren't willing to compromise.

If you REALLY gotta have an excuse to buy a camo shotgun...tell everyone aunt betty MADE you do it. Especially the wife when she notices you could have saved money by getting a black one.

I really like that one Aunt Betty , I never thought of it that way !
Besides wearing Black Hoodies and using a lot of spinners , the guys with camo guns are **** whipped so, when they get out
in hunting grounds ,that's the reason they are always hollering ? To make us believe they are tough ?? WOW

Thank You for your in-site !

My statement about the military was in response to the "camo is for the eye" post. That post implied that camouflage is not effective, but is only a sales tool.
My statement argued that camo is, indeed, effective....whether it's on a gun, on a helmet, on pants, on a Jeep, on a tank. It's equally effective on humans, birds, coyotes, or elk.

PS. not all military long guns are black. At least not all the ones actually being used in combat today.

EDITED to add the word "all" to the last sentence, for clarification of meaning.

Uh ohhhh. A hybrid. That shotgun killed a LOT of ducks, geese, rabbits, and pheasants.
This is what happens when you break the wooden stock.

lol

at the end of duck season I had to put two winchester 1300s together to make one. I had an aftermarket black stock, an olive drab reciever from my slug gun, and a camo barrel from my duck gun. it was ugly and immediately dubbed frankengun.

Forgive me for I shoot a black gun. Never had a dead duck tell me that the color of the gun was what did him in. Also I spent 23 years in the army and wear 4 different combat patches front line action. No body I shot at every said I had to use a different color gun for combat.

There's nothing wrong with a black gun. It just means you and the camo finish guys have poor taste.
