my smallest shotgun, even smaller than a 410...

Postby Slugo » Wed Mar 27, 2013 12:16 pm

vintage 1947, Remington Model 121, 22 caliber, Routledge Smoothbore (birdshot only) scattergun. Maybe my best collector piece of all of them. Made from 1933 to 1952 in very limited numbers. Instead of clay minis, I use stale Ritz Crackers!! Seriously... :hi:

the last 12" of barrel is expanded out to a 45 caliber muzzle opening!!

how would you like trying to shoot a round of clays with this mini-gun!! :lol3:

so it shoots .22 ratshot? if it does that is pretty cool but dont know it it would kill anything. but still would be a fun gun to have.

I now officially hate you!

I have been watching for a very long time for a smooth bore 22 but have yet to run into one.

Very nice find!

Nice one there! I have a single shot Remington smoothbore. I've been trying to find a smoothbore winchester Model 61.

My understanding is that those shot the old crimped mouth shot rounds fairly well. I don't know if you can find any of that ammo any longer. the CCI stuff I have with the plactic shot capsules don't do very well. Beautiful little gun.

Both Winchester and Federal still make the crimped birdshot ammo.

I have a Remington 572 SB part # 9829 made a few years ago. I bought it new, but don't remember exactly when. It's hell on bore bees. I killed 37 one day. I have also shot clay's with it if they are close.

Yes you can, but it's real hard to get them to suck on the end of the barrel.

That's actually not bad! That would do a starling or a sparrow in nicely.
