HELP WITH MY NEW SBEII

Postby O.D.Lid » Sat Apr 06, 2013 6:18 pm

HELP! I just got my new SBEII took it all apart cleaned every thing put it back together and it will not take more than one shell in the magazine tube. It doesn't even looks like it's big enough to take the brass. Does the tube limiter only allow one shell? I've tried a 3" and a 3 1/2" still only one shell, am I just not reading the use/ maintaince manual correctly

I did maybe I'll do it again. ran a rag soaked with hoppes then a dry one reinstalled with the limiter spring etc. lots of tension should I remove the limiter plug from the spring?

I have had this issue with my new SBE but it does not do it all the time. I plan to take it back to where I bought it and have them send it in.

2 questions
Was it taking the shell before u took it apart?

Are you certain you put it back together correctly?( not trying to insult you, but start with the basics first)

I was wondering the same thing.

Check down the magazine tube for a burr or some other obstruction.

Thanks for you all's input. I never tried to load it before I cleaned it. I took it apart probally 6 times after I couldn't get it to load with the same results. I'm goimg back to Cabelas today either they fix it or send it back or replace it we'll see, thanks again.

For future reference, if it doesn't fit, don't force it. Especially with a screwdriver.

Yes, I did take it back to Cabelas thier "gunsmith" did all the same things I did (less the screwdriver thing) and came up with the same results: shells won't go in! they bought it back from me gave me gift cards for the equal amount and ordered me another one should be here in 5 days or so. Thanks again for all the input and :help:

My question would be did you try several brands of shells. I had an issue with my M2 not taking a few of my reloads. Found that the rim diameter of the hull had been enlarged in the resizing process. The mag tube inside diameter is tighter on the Benelli. The same offending hull fit right in my 1187.
