Depending on gun condition I think that is a great deal I have actually been in the market for the same gun! Any chance the shorter barrel has been threaded for screw in chokes if so I would say that's a steal!

Northcoast, that was my assumption also. I have a pre production model of the Mag 10 with 32" bbl and Tru Chokes and the nicest piece of walnut of all the guns I own including my target guns. With all the bad press this gun got in the past I find it to be a killer on both waterfowl and coyotes.
Buy it and enjoy it.

Yea I have been looking for the "right" deal myself!! I have shot my uncles years ago granted it was heavy it felt like a pretty good shooter recoil wise and they had to be doing something right for Remington to buy the design from them..do them tru chokes pattern steel pretty well for you.. I was thinking that route if I do get one although I hear if you stay on the smaller side of the goose shot size the factory full is safe to use with steel and throws some wicked tight patterns

The Tru chokes pattern good enough to kill lots of snowies and it is 50 yard coyote gun with copper 2's. You are right about it being heavy, a BAR has nothing on the Mag 10 for packability.
The Tru chokes are the same as Win Chokes so finding something to better suit your needs is not a problem.
I try not to overthink shotgunning, pattern it with different loads, check and adjust point of aim if necessary and start sending shot down the bbl at your preferred target.

well just got the gun today and ran a whole box threw it just to see if it would spit shells. the only thing that it doesn't do is when unloading it doesn't release the 2nd shell outa the mag. but it shoots all 3 just fine.

well half the box was shot at movin targets and it was dustin them at 40 yrds
