Super Nova or M3500

Postby huntnut » Thu May 02, 2013 8:43 pm

My son wants a new shotgun before season, He was wanting a BPS 10ga tell he handled mine. He is looking at the Super Nova and the Stroeger M3500. I had a Nova and like it but it didn't fix good but with the super nova does it come with shims like the M3500? I havnt heard anything bad about the M3500. He likes the SN having the same stock as a SBEII but the Stoeger dosnt. Is the M3500 a poor mans SBEII? ANd is the SN worth the $100 more then the Nova?

They are nearly the same design... Remington might be better quality these days.

I have the 3500 and it has been a great gun. Break it in right and it will eat any shells you put in it. I do not have any experience with the nova.

wouldn't touch a new Remington for anything. The last 870 I got was rusted in the package. I have heard good things about the M3500. I did like the Nova I had years ago and thought he might like the new supernova with adjustable stock to help fit of the gun. Also thought about a Mossberg 935 for the way it patterns big shot for geese, but not shooting dove load worth a crap. We are going to the LGS today and try a couple different guns for him.

the m3500 is suppose to be a great gun but stoeger isn't exactly known for quality, the nova is plastic witch makes me fringed but if you can get past that its a fine gun, i would suggest the nova.

The nova does have a shim kit with it.... I had the m2000 and got rid of it after one season after to many FTF. It may be all cleared up with the m3500. I own 2 super nova's, & would recommend one to anyone.

3500 is awesome, I have put it through the grinder over the last 2 seasons including 2 hell rides of a spring snow season. It goes boom everytime.

here is my thoughts on the weapon and my review.

I have a Super Nova and love it! It handles well and shoots a great pattern too! (I shoot Winchester 3" 3's in it) A frieo of mine has a 3500 A and loves it. Either is a good choice!
