What are your thoughts or opinions about this gun? Found one used for $500 with chokes. Don't know much about shotguns.

It's probably better than a Stoeger Condor. I'd buy it for $500.

Probably, it is probably the very best gas gun Beretta has ever built. If you don't buy it, tell me where it is and when it gets to my FFL, I'll send you a $50 finders fee.

I prefer the 3901 strictly speaking on looks and profile, but the 390 internally is the epitome of the perfect gas gun.

I wouldn't take any Stoeger for free over a 390 any day.

Italian or beretta USA made? I'd only get the italian one, and not sure of the price, unless it has some expensive aftermarket on it if it's a used gun, brand spanking new, that might be OK, but that's just my opinion. I didn't pay that much for mine almost 20 years ago. Probably the best gun for the money I've ever owned as well, has the best action of any auto I've ever seen. It's still running strong to this day too.

All Silver Mallard shotguns are Italian I believe.

The 390 is the Best gas auto you will ever find sure the SX-1 was all machined parts but the 390 will still be shooting after the all others have gone belly up. That is a fare price if the gun is clean, the 390's are probably the perfect blend of affordability and reliability, and if you are looking for a auto that will not fail you when the chips are down... you found it they just don't quit, that makes it worth much more than $500.00 to guy's who know. Just listen to orphanedcowboy he know's!

This is a great gun, have had one since mid '90s, now retired from the marsh relegated to only clays and doves. Don't see how you can go wrong....

It is the only gun you will find at the dove clubs in SA, not only will the 390 stand up to 1000 rounds a day, but your shoulder will as well. Mine will cost you more than 500.
