Maxus Hunter 3.5 vs SX3 modb 3.5

Postby hunter56 » Mon Jul 29, 2013 9:20 am

I currently have the SX3 in modb and 3.5. love the gun but I have an opportunity to upgrade to a new Maxus if I sell my SX3 (cost is not really the dilemma) but browning only has the maxus in the hunter model at the current time. I do a lot of goose and duck hunting in swamps and some pretty rough spots. Think its worth losing the camo sx3 for the new maxus in wood?

I have a silver hunter and have never regretted it as far as waterfowling is concerned and I hunt in some very tough conditions. Which do you want more? Camouflage or pretty wood and blued either will stand up to years of use with proper maintenance as demonstrated by the 80 year old model 12 I still hunt with.

Ya that is how I feel. A couple people have said that "you will feel terrible when u wreck that gun because it is so fancy" but I take care of my stuff and its brand new whereas my SX3 has a couple thousand rounds through it (still in great shape). And i am not concerned about the geese seeing my gun. close enough to see it they should be dead

My past experience has proven to me that wood and water don't mix very well. I've had the stock on my Remington 1100 get messed up and warp due to being wet.
