I would have to agree that Franchi isn't an off brand. Just not as popular or expensive as the other spaghetti guns.

The Weatherby SA-08 is a pretty sweet gun and has a nice price tag too.

To me, the very definition of an "off brand" is a gun that doesn't cost much and is imported in low numbers.
If your local gunsmith doesn't carry the common wear items for your gun, and the gun is currently in production, it's probably an off brand. That's one reason I think it makes sense to buy Remington/Browning/Beretta/etc.....
