Beratta A390st

Postby aunt betty » Thu Sep 26, 2013 7:15 am

I bought one. I have only held four 390's so I have a question or two.
My 390 got stolen. It was all black and I loved that gun. I miss it.

So I bought the A390st.

I notice the receiver is black while the barrel is blued.
Is that how it came new?

The barrel is blued and the receiver is anodized.

Thanks for 'splainin' it.
I was curious and not sure the gun was all original parts.
I had a feeling there was something I didn't know...
I get it now!!!

The anodized finish keeps the two metals from creating a mess out of the steel. The steel would rust like crazy if wet...
Ever try bolting steel screws on an aluminum boat? That's a no-no...use stainless.

Thanks orphanedcowboy!

Well, it just isn't the interaction, hard anodizing helps with wear. I had a receiver re-anodized and while it looked good externally, it looked awful internally after several thousand rounds of target loads.

The matte finish on their duck guns is closer, the reason it is more noticeable on their target guns is they refine the finish even more on both the barrel and receiver.
