adjusting shotgun sights?

Postby Cupped-n-Committed » Sun Jan 02, 2005 2:45 pm

Can you do anything to change your sights on your gun or just adjust your shooting to match your pattern?

I just patterned my Mossberg 500. I was shooting the main bulk of the load under the duck on my pattern. It would have killed him still but when I patterned it at 50 yards it had plenty of shot right under the duck to wack him but maybe enough to wound him as I shot it.

Can I change the sight on a shotgun or do I just raise the BB over their head and compensate for the low shot pattern I saw today?

One can literally bend the barrel is the way to go to correct this. But only a very skilled gunsmith should do it as it is alot more complicated than is sounds to do it. I do NOT at all recommend that a regular gun owner do it at all.
