First Semi-Automatic Shotgun Help

Postby sconlin2 » Tue Oct 29, 2013 10:38 pm

I am looking to buy my first Semi-automatic shotgun. I mostly duck hunt and trap shoot. I have been looking at the Stoeger M3500, Remington 11-87, and the Weatherby SA-08. Anyone have experience with these guns or some suggestions?

Those guns are quite dissimilar. I have the 11-87 and SA -08. The Weatherby Waterfowler 3.0 is my favorite if I need to walk very far. It is much lighter and quicker handing than my other duck guns. Really a good all around field gun.

None are particularly good trap guns, so pick your poison. They are lower priced field guns and tend to shoot flat.
Well, are you gonna pull those pistols or whistle Dixie?

i would take the remington because it is reliable and has been around for a while so they have worked out all the kinks a while ago. Although, trap loads might not cycle in your gun.
