I've shot a Benelli for years and I don't think the recoil is bad. Out of a layout boat shooting 3.5s I've been nailed a couple times when I haven't shouldered the gun correctly. Now I do notice the recoil shooting 3.5s out of my Citori in the layout boat. My son has a new Beretta A400, I'm anxious to try it but he won't let me........

Kicks like a mule when you are anticipating it, but in the blind you'll never know the difference.

For ducks I usually stick with 3 inch stuff!

Let me revise my statement, it stomps your arse good when the butt end is on your bicep!!!!

SBE's and Vinci's kick more then their gas operated counter parts. Which includes basically all the other auto loading shotguns. The inertia system they use does not soften the blow like a gas system does. The "comfort tech" system they use does reduce it some, but still not to the levels of a gas gun.

For a even greater difference compare the Benelli inertia system say a SBE2 or Vinci with a Beretta A400 Xtreme with Kick off. The difference is night and day. The A400 shoots very noticeably softer then the Benelli's.

Now that all being said. When the ducks hovering and "TAKE EM" happens. You wont even feel the recoil. Benelli or Beretta.

Adrenaline is a hell of a drug

I love Benelli and Beretta equally, I own both. Just stating facts.
