BERETTA A391 xtrema2 value

Postby Be Safe » Sun Feb 16, 2014 6:13 pm

I loccated a new BERETTA A391 xtrema2 with the Kick-Off . The gun is dipped and comes with the case and chokes. The guy had it priced for $1699, and said he would sell it to me at his cost which was $1,440. I was wondering if this was a good price. Also if I am going to pay this much should I be considering the newer A400 or buy the proven A391, your thought are appreciated.

I have both guns (A400 & X2) and always find myself reaching for my X2. It may just be a confidence thing, but that's half the battle I guess. Even the used Extrema 2 are hard to find and pricey as well.

Seriously doubt his cost is $1440

Five years ago, I paid $1625 for a new Xtrema2 in ShadowGrass w/ KIckOff. So, I'd say that $1440 is pretty decent price. Not what I'd call a "braggin' price", but a decent price. If you want one of the top waterfowl guns in the world, then get it. It will be money well spent.

A store in my town has a new extrema on the shelf for $999. But they are getting hard to find love my 391 Urika. If it wasn't for already owning my super vinci, I'd snag it up to be my 3.5 auto.

Thanks for the input. I felt like like he probably wasn't on the the up n up with his actual cost. Im considering offering $1200 - $1250 for the gun and he can take it or not. I actually shoot an old M1 Super 90 but was going to move back up to a 3.5 and was going to order the SBE II special from Dunn's. A buddy of mine suggest the BERETTA would kick less when I choose to shoot 3.5 shells. My buddy has the A391 and I have shot it with 3.5 shells without any neck issues. I had upper disk surgery (2 fusions) a couple of years ago and reduced recoil would be nice. I have not shot the SBE II. I know they were suppose to address recoil with the comfort stock and dampners, but have heard mixed reviews.

10 year warranty on the SBE2 and proven duck gun with a backed history. I've held the extrema 2 beautiful gun, but see very mixed emotions on it.

Whether he was or not is inconsequential. You are only concerned with YOUR price. Whether he paid $1440 for the gun or $1000, it doesn't matter. He determines how much he will pay for a gun and how much he will accept for the gun. You, get to determine how much you'll pay....
Buying a gun isn't a competition to find out who gets gun X for the least amount of money...and someone will ALWAYS get one cheaper.
The idea is to get a gun that you want for a price you want to pay. Good luck!
