Maxus price

Postby Huntfish12 » Fri Apr 04, 2014 10:57 am

Just had a guy i work with offer to sell me an brand new Maxus for $900. Black, not camo. I know its a good gun, and I know its a decent price. A smoking deal?? I dont think so. What are you guys oppinions?
Personally, I dont need it. Currently shoot a Xtreama, but it's always good to have a back up gun. Also, he offerd up a BPS 20g for $400. Used but not much. thoughts on that also....
Theres always someone out there thats better then you. I'm that guy.

A Black Maxus is about $1200+ around me.

The BPS is probably about in the correct price range, depending on what model it is.

I just paid that for a brand new extrema. I'd say it's a good deal. BPS is about right for a used one.

Fair price on the BPS. Waste of money if you aren't looking for a 20ga pump, but worth it if you are looking for one anyway. I have one and, while I'm not fond of the bottom eject (it makes loading the first shell less convenient than side-ejection) and the wobbly forearm, it's been 100% reliable and uncannily efficient in getting on birds. It's like it's radar-guided....makes me look better than I really am.

OK, but this is a pretty gun -

Browning Maxus Hunter, 12 gauge.. 28 inch barrel. 3" chamber...in the box... missing some chokes. $995 or trade for a long range tactical scope.

I just paid $800 for a used Maxus Stalker in very good condition. It's on it's way to the camo shop right now to get dipped in Max-4. Should be a really nice duck gun when I get it back.

I picked up a like new 3-1/2" Maxus in black for my wife the other day for $800. It came with everything that came with it from the factory. I thought that was too good of a deal to pass up. Plus that let her upgrade from her old Beretta AL391. Gotta love those guys who go out and buy all the latest and greatest duck hunting stuff when they start then give up after one season when they realize its hard to shoot limits everyday lol

Guess that is a positive of Duck Hunting becoming so popular. Just picked up a dozen G&H Mallard Decoys for $25. Didn't really need them, but the kid had bought two dozen and said that was too many. Texas Rigged.

I paid $750 for mine - 8 shells through it. Black 3.5 Stalker with 26" pipe and a Browning soft shell case.

It was already a really nice duck gun... without a bunch of paint slapped onto it.

Tim -- To each, his own. My Maxus now has a MAX-4 hydro-dip with a clearcoat for protection. It looks great and should hold-up well in the duck blind. All totaled, I'm into this gun $990. If your gun looks like it has a bunch of paint slapped onto it that's really too bad, mine looks great. :lol3:
