I'm looking to buy a kicks hf MOD choke and shoot my normal 3in Hevi Metal BB or kent fasteel when I'm broke. Does anyone think this is just as good as 3.5in?
First, you're simply going from a 3" pumpgun to a 3" S/A. The great news is you don't need a 3 1/2" chambered 12 ga. to do so as you've apparently had success with the Mossy. If you decide to go 3 1/2", the 10 gauge is the best route, expecially for geese.
Second, you've apparently been shooting the birds close(r) as the HeviMetal shotshells are basically spreader loads.
Before you spend ~$80USD on a HF tube, get a box of 3" in #1's and shoot a few patterns with your factory IC & MOD tubes. Most loads in #1 pellets will kill geese quite a bit farther than the HM BB's, plus be a better as a large duck load, to boot.
