Model 12 stock

Postby Maxlow3507 » Tue May 13, 2014 6:00 pm

I recently inherited a 12g Winchester model 12 from my grandfather and it is a great gun and the gun he grew up waterfowl hunting with. Problem is that the stock has a crack in it and it also has a youth stock on it. At 6'3" it's a little small for me even if it wasn't cracked. I don't know if there is a certain stock that I need to be looking for or anything like that. I have never replaced a stock or anything like that so I have no idea where to start.Image

There are a number of places where you can get a replacement. One of the first that popped up when I did a search was Brownell's. here's the link http://www.brownells.com/items/winchest ... parts.aspx

Maxlow

You are a lucky fella , I have hunted with several Mod 12's and can say , they don't make them like that anymore !
To answer your question , you could add pacers to the stock to fit you or you can buy a stock from Macan Stocks
to your dimensions , a good place to look also would be NULINE ind. or EBay.......The only thing you have to know is
the gauge . It's easy to replace as with 2 screws holding the recoil pad and inside the stock hole , there is a slot headed
bolt to unscrew with a long shank screw-driver .
With you being 6'3" a 15 1/2" length of stock would be what you need.......go to a Gun Store and ask them to measure your
LOP !

Thanks for the advice 3200 I'm super pumped and looking forward to hunting with it a few times next season after she's all fixed up. The gun has been around the world. Grandpa was stationed in Germany, Australia and all over Asia and it's dropped many birds during its time. Gonna pass it down to my future grandkids
