Failure's hard, but success is far more dangerous. If you're successful at the wrong thing the mix of praise, money and opportunity can lock you in forever.

Just wandered into this swamp today and was amazed to find so many A-5 shooters in one place. Mine is a 1960 3" that I blew up my entire summer job savings on..........in 1960. Best piece of equipment I ever bought and it will still be killing ducks this fall.
When steel was mandated it got a Jap barrel with invector tubes. Lookes a little funny with the stainless steel Patternmaster hanging out of the muzzle but it works for me and that's all that counts.

I got an A-5 Sweet Sixteen Made is the 30's. I've never had it jam. Don't get to duck hunt with it anymore because steel shot will mess up the barrel and bismuth is too expensive

Anybody know where to get a good deal on some Bismuth or Tungsten Matrix? I have a 1959 A 5 Lt 20, I bought a case of TM a few years back when It was only $12 a box for the 2 3/4" shells. I ran out last year and see now they have almost tripled in price

Finally got a picture of some of the kids. From right to left: Sweet Sixteen, one of my two Light 12s, Magnum 12 stalker with Invector Plus barrel, Mag 12 that I just got new in the box it hasn't been fired yet! The Stalker is my go to duck gun and it is a killer. I also have a Stalker clone Light 12 not in the picture (for sale in the classifieds). All are Jap guns that can shoot steel.

im still puttin steel through my belgiam gun, i dont care what anybody on this site says the damage is very minor and nothing to worry about unless you are a collector or looking to resale. Now, as far as steel goes, i only shoot #1 or smaller out of it. You dont have to go buy all this expensive overpriced bismuth and tungsten $hit. There is no tellin how much steel has been put through mine and theres not any damage, even cosmetic, to be found.

Just joined the group, picked up a sweet 16 bout three weeks ago. First time i shot it kicked like a mule, checked the brass and spacers, corrected them and now the gun is as smooth and soft as could be. Having the choke opened up so i can use it for ducks, with little constriction, mylar wraps and #4 shot, should never be a problem, also got some real nice pheasant loads made up, be in Montana in a week, ready to break my new baby in right.
