Wad Slitting

For those that may be interested. I tried this on one load last year and took some pictures. The only thing different was the number of slits in the wad. Look at them and tell me what you think.

I split wads when I started loading steel, and found out that I had better patterns with the wad cut at least 60% of the way down and even farther and 4 slits seemed the best in my old guns.

Now I go with the pre-split wads.

I've tried 3 and 4 slit and couldnt really tell much difference but never have tried the 2 slit.I'll try it and see how it does in my Gold 10.

I use a 3 slit wad almost exclusivly in my 10 ga's, but your 2 slit pattern looks pretty good. What weight and pellet size are the pattern pics of???

It was a Master load from Advantages IV. Using 1 1/2 oz of 2 steel going at 1450. No buffer. BPD-10T wad.
