That is #3's at 40 yards with .700 Terror choke in my Versamax. 130-134 hits

That pattern looks along the lines of some shot with the 2 3/4" Kent FS of 1 1/16 oz. of #3's.

Amazing that these "lighter" loads are actually more efficient than their heavier/slower cousins.

Did some searching and found nothing about this product.

I'm very interested in buying a case, is it really out there?

Yes. It's out there. Physical retail locations only though. At scheels stores, runnings stores, an apparently rural king stores. Doubtfull any online vendors have it.

Find a scheels location and look in the ammo section. Ours has at least 20 cases stacked up. Its not $9.99 a box though, it stays $1 less than federal speed-shok, so right at $10.99 usually.

Can someone cut one open and take a picture of what is in it. I'm interested in the wad, Quality of steel pellets, Powder weight and a general description of the powder.

Because its an exclusive item that stores cannot buy from fiocchi. Was developed specifically for scheels under contract. I would assume the other store listed in this thread as carrying it is owned fully or partially by scheels corp.

Runnings has no ownership relation with scheels. The two stores sell separate "brands" of the same load. I would assume fiocchi has a sales program wherein the offer special packaging if x amount of ammo is ordered.

The boxes at our Rural King do not look like the boxes shown they are just that plain brown like their shell and lack a lot of ornate writing or pics

Thanks for the heads up drake and hammerin. I live less than 10 minutes from that Sandy Scheels. I got paid today so I know where I'm going at lunch.

I just pick up a box of 1's from Rural King. That was the only shot size they had. They were $10.79. The box is very simple, and has a logo with a 34 on the front. I assume that 34 is the shot charge in grams. I'm going to try patterning them. If they work well, I'll be stocking up. The sticker on the lid said speed steel, but its clearly a different load than the fiocchi speed steel that Rogers sells.

I saw it at Runnings a few weeks ago. Looked interesting. I believe they had #2,3&4. Maybe even bb. If I didn't shoot mainly handloads I'd give them a try.

Scheels in Sandy only had bb, 3 & 2. Does it come in 4's also? What about 20 gauge? I'll be patterning it before season open to see if my guns like it and what size they prefer.

For those that think they are new...they are not. Have been around for a few years, just a well kept secret...The 3's are awesome and are plated! I bought a box and cut them open a year ago and they were loaded in what appeared to be the LBC48, with what looked like longshot or some other small spherical powder.

Also, Scheels may have the nicest gun departments of any store I've ever been in...very very different. Like being in a shoe store with them sprinkled around by brand and action....attendees in sport coats and ties....VERY VERY NICE.
I have been in 1,000's of gun stores (feels like) and I actually told the attendant that Scheels had the nicest gun store I've ever seen....PERIOD. Better than Cabelas or Bass Pro by leaps and bounds.

Old post.

Not sure if you have a scheels nearby. They get fiocchi to load a proprietary shell for them that is very nice.

Fiocchi SteelMax
3". 1 1/5oz in 2's 3's or 4's.
1550fps

Picked up a box just because i had never seen a 1 1/5oz load lol.
And price was right at $10.99.

Cut one open and they have wonderful perfectly round plated shot in what looks like an LBC48 wad over what apprears to be 40 grains of a fine ball powder.

Haven't shot one yet, but looks like better than similarly priced shells typical components.

They were $9.99 a box last year. Sniff.

Rockedem

They are great shells....ENJOY!

For those of you that cannot find the Steel Max loads near you, try the Fiocchi steel from Rogers. It it only 1 1/8 but it patterns very well. I cut a 3" #2 and found 136 pellets. Shot at 30yrds from a Briley Mod it was 98%, 97% and 95%
