yea that what was thinking.. some people have been given me hard time about having my 7 year old shooting because he cant swing on a duck yet make him not ready in there eyes and that I was just sayin he could for an extra limit. so I left the 12 at home and just took the 10g for geese. because who is really gona shoot a woody with a 10 well he went to school and the duck came buzzin and I didn't even think just grabd gun and shot when feathers went poof I went oops.

never too young...or old for that matter. if the gun can track bird and drop it well thats all that matters. the .410 is light enough and recoil friendly enough so good on you for letting him go get some with it, you are there to finish off IF he wounds a bird that he cant finish in time.

Both of my boys and myself started shooting ducks with a .410. My youngest son still uses it and shoots #6 in a single shot old western field with no problems. He does well within 25 yards and has been doing it for the last couple of years. It is an old gun that was my first and at first I was scared to use steel in it but it has performed flawlessly and he loves it! It may not kill birds like a 12g but it does extremely well within the kill zone of a decoying ducks. Buy some shells for the little one and let the birds work in.....you will be thrilled when you see them having fun.

Burn them to a cd too but also I think one of the greatest inventions yet is the Picture Frames that will store pics and display them one at a time continuously. Best of both worlds IMHO.

That way you only require one or two of these displays and the pics will change on a preset time interval.

hillbilly,

there is nothing wrong with what you are doing with your kids, looks like they injoy it. there is no differrence for your boy shooting 6 shot in .410 and crippling a duck when they are in over the decoys, than a adult that thinks he can shoot mallards all day at first shot at 50 yards are further. the latter there is alot more birds crippled by those hunters than a kid with single shot that knows his limits that you have taught him of coarse. plus that .410 is very good cripple gun for those ducks with broken wings ect.

i think lost is talking about these picture frames that store digital pictures then plays them back one at time on the one unit.

Billy, those are adorable pictures. Like Lost said, please make sure you get those framed or saved in some
form they are heirlooms for sure. Those kids look both excited and happy.
