Every gun patterns differently. You need to to pattern whatever shot you want to try from your gun to find out. That said, my buddy has a nova and I shoot a SBE both through factory chokes, we both shoot 3 1/2" #3 Estate, we split the cost of a case from Cabelas, and it patterns very well out of both of our guns.

I found that my stock choke wasn't patterning very well. I have always shot kent faststeel through my nova, and now I use a Briley light Mod. waterfowl choke

Brileys Duck and Goose chokes work very well for me in my nova. they are only about $30.

For me, with kents and estates, #2,#4 and #6s patterend great with the IC choke, but poorly with the modified.

The brileys chokes pattern all of them better though. Just my experience.

I use cheapo Winchester 3.5" #3's...steel. You dont have ta shoot steel in Mexico, so, Id use the cheapest dove loads I could find. The modified choke that came with your gun is GREAT for EVERYTHING up to T shot

I only have one suggestion that hasn't been posted:
Get yourself an extened choke if you are waterfowling.
If you look through a bunch of posts you will find one
or two or maybe more of people asking how do I get
out a stuck choke tube. Like most waterfowlers I do
not clean my gun nearly enough. I have never had
a stuck choke but at least with extended chokes you
have room to grab on to it with channel locks or vise grips.
