Mossberg 835 chokes/loads for waterfowl?

Postby Bernie P. » Mon Oct 14, 2013 9:23 am

I have quite a few Mossberg Accumags a couple Trulocks and Kicks High Flyer chokes on hand.So far I've only patterned the gun with Feds 3" 1 1/4oz steel #2 shot in both the Accumag Mod- .750 and Kicks Xfull- .748.Both did well and very close to one another. The Kicks put a few more pellets in the 30" circle at 40yds but the Accumag gave a slightly more even distribution. My questions are is there any real need for BBB or T shot and what constrictions do I really need for shots with BB on down out to about 50 yards.I just don't hunt waterfowl much anymore so I'd like to thin down my choke collection but still have enough to get the job done decently when I do.
