Crimp problem

Postby steelcommander » Tue Jan 02, 2007 10:21 pm

The "show me your best crimps" thread got me thinking to ask you guys about this problem. My problem is that my MEC Steelmaster 3 1/2" reloader gives me odd looking crimps. When I look at a finished shell, the cam crimp punch impression on the top of the shell is off-center just enough to mess with the quality of the crimp. I replaced the punch thinking that it was bent but that wasn't the problem. I also believe that it isn't an issue that can be resolved by raising or lowering the cam and/or punch, because I have adjusted both and it still does the same thing wherever the two are set. BTW, I have already contacted MEC many times and I think the customer service guy is getting mad at me. It didn't always have that problem, it somehow got messed up one day. Any thoughts???

One thought.

Send the unit back with a reloaded shell with the bad crimp and
ask them to fix the problem.

Send it "certified" in case they say they never got it.

This would be your last resort..............
