I chose not to shoot birds with it after the patterning sessions BTW, I have real experience with HM


Yuchi, one line from two posts, if you chose not to shoot birds with it you have no REAL experience with HM. Shooting paper don't count......sorry.

What makes Heavy steel any better than regular steel shot ?
There are rumors it has a density of 9.2 cc , who can confirm this ?

That was the density of the old hevi-steel. The new version is plain steel, probably 7.8 g/cc.

That was the density of the old hevi-steel. The new version is plain steel, probably 7.8 g/cc.


Exactly what Mitch says, its just steel, however you are paying the steel price as well. From what I have heard (don't have any to try yet), it patterns wells also.

Since it isn't "Heavy" but is sold by "Hevi", shouldn't it really be called "Hevi-Steel" or "Hevi's-Steel"??????
Of course if they can't get anything else correct why bother I guess.....
