Anybody know where I can get a few cheap tundra swan decoys? Drew my permit in NC this year.

We use snow goose decoys, The shells and the windsock type both work really well. We use a 1/4 in X 3' wooden lath stakes, cut to length and stand the shells on the lath stakes using the slits cut in the bottom of the neck of the decoy. Then you can put them in shallow water or fields. We tie rags ( white shopping sacks or trash bags work) onto the lath and use the lath as a "neck". We also bought the snow goose windsock with 2 position heads available from many companies, they work great in a breeze and were only @$30 a dozen. The carry-lite ones are very expensive comparitavely and don't work any more effectively...This year my group only got 1 tag but we are trying silloeuttes we cut ourselves out of plywood, painted white and glued onto those same wooden laths. Good luck, they are among my favorite things to hunt and I assume in NC even funner than around Utah.

Thanks for the tip firebird. Yeah, they are a blast. Last year was my first year hunting waterfowl and I drew a swan tag. Last year i hired a guide to hunt pintails and swans, this year I drew numerous lottery tags to hunt our refuges here in NC. One of these is usually covered in swans so I need a cheap solution that sounds like a good one.

Thanks again, DBO

One other suggestion, call them with your mouth by yelling WHO and a buddy can yell BLUE and every now and then WHO_IT! It sounds wierd but brother if you yell it they will come!
