Magnum decoys verses standard

Postby mark43 » Fri Dec 03, 2004 7:11 pm

Does it matter whether you use magnum size or standard size decoys. That would be 18" versus 16". I would appreciate the advice.

magnum dekes work better, especally on big water. If you hunt small marshes, it wouldnt make a big defference, but mag will still work better

Size does matter... for decoys.

Bigger the water = bigger the decoys IMO I use S Mags. as I hunt big water and have usually have competition. I do have a dz mags for hunting ponds that will fit easily into 1 decoy bag if need be.

I have read that it adds realism to your spread, look at ducks in a pond they are all a little different in size. If you use just on size it looks like 2 dozen of the exact same bird.
