old duck decoys

Postby grimmer » Wed Sep 11, 2013 8:33 pm

I have a chance to buy a large lot of older wooden decoys that were used in the upper Chesapeake bay back in the late 40's and early 50's. They are in good shape and a lot of them are unpainted and were never used. Should I paint them and use them or are they collectible? No name on them except the name of the owner who I knew before he died. They're all canvasbacks by the way.

Cut the bread in half!

Paint half to use, clean the others for collectible s !!

Give them as gifts for special people.

I would personally hunt them. I'm not a big collector kind of person and I think it would be awesome to shoot ducks over something that old.
