Does size matter?

Postby olt d2 » Thu Sep 12, 2013 11:48 pm

When it comes to duck decoys divers or puddlers, what does everyone use? life size, mag or even super mags? I'm thinking of going to fewer but larger duck decoys. just wondering what guys think of going this route.

In my opinion, bigger is better especially when diver hunting.

Not really in my mind. Theirs some guys who swear by it but unless your sitting out in the middle of lake Michigan your standard size decoys are fine.

Justin is right. If you're hunting a hole that the ducks are hitting day in and day out the size of the deke probably won't matter much. But hunting divers or sea ducks in completely open water you need to do everything you can to make the ducks see you from a distance. In open water there is nothing to make the ducks funnel near you, you have to make them see you you.
