Is that Winduck they sell at Cabela's for $25 worth a crap? The responses on Cabela's differ in that some say it won't work without 20 mph winds...and others say it works fine with little wind.
I have a guide series WinDuk and it's awesome. Some folks have problems with them because they don't lube em right. Lithium grease and WD-40 after each use is great. Mine will spin at 2-5 mph winds.
They do work well if you have a constant breeze. I would say probably 5mph or better. Normally in early season, I hunt swamps which have little to no wind, so it mostly just sits there. I have adapted it to late season Seaducks where there is a constant breeze off the ocean - it works like a charm there.
