there cheaper!and when hunting in a boat the water leaks over you as you wind line .my buddy has them and i tell him to leave his home and just use mine.and as said you can throw the weighted one's and they right themselves just my opinion.
I have found that Weighted keels are my preference....when puddle duck hunting....I can park the boat in the middle of my spot and just throw all my dekes out without having to worry if they are upright or not - especially at 4:00 in the morning.
If your carrying use water keel, if by boat use the weighted. I never throw my decoys, I place every one, if the water doesn't dry by sun up, you got a whole bunch of shinny decoys, not too good.
