Do the foamer decoys hold up to the test of time. I am thinking of giving this a try and do not want to invest the time if they only last a year or two. How long have you guys hunted over your foamer decoys?
burlapped foamers will last a long time.....they hold paint w/out chipping....they take shot.....cheap to replace after a decade or more....float naturally.....you don't have to burlap the Herters either....try shaping your own
I have made a few foam dekes covered in burlap. Two even have foam heads (they all do but the rest have a piece if 1/8" hard board sandwiched by foam) I have only finished two, but I have four waiting to be finished. I made some from 2" pink foam from Lowe's it is a lot denser than the free styro foam I scabbed from work. I'm not sure how the ends of the bill/tail will hold up stored in a slotted bag but they could be harden with things.
