Sandblasting plastic...

Postby Rick Hall » Mon Mar 03, 2014 9:04 am

I have some circa '04 and '05 Hardcore goose and a slew of newer GHG duck decoys that were bad for slipping paint that I'd like to rejuvenate, beginning with sandblasting away what paint remains, and I'd be grateful for sandblasting media advice from those with experience. Thanks.
If you think I'm wrong, you might be right.

contact Honk-n-quack he has a good handle on this, he used a home made tool and baking powder instead of sand, it worked out great on his goose decoys.

Crushed garnet works great. It'll all work, just play around and see what you like best.

Yep. You can use white sand (sandbox sand from the playground), crushed walnut shells, garnet, glass beads (micro balloons), just about anything. White sand works as well as anything and is cheapest.

I made my own blaster that used baking soda and worked quite well
