Which G+H decoys

Postby MattM1 » Fri May 20, 2005 4:36 pm

Well, it's time to replace some decoys and I need some advise. I need a half dozen of mallard decoys and with a $70.00 budget I'm considering 2
G+H models. The first is the super mag 22 inch stationary head and the second is the m4m magnum pro 18 inch movable head decoys. Does anyone have either one of these? I'm leaning towards the magnum pro but I've never seen them (and I'll probably mail order) are they much better then the standard model. Thanks for any input.

Are you REALLY dead set on G&H??? There are other dekes out there that look way nicer for less $$$

I would say go with the m4m mags. We bought some of the standard ones with the swivel heads and love them. Good luck with your decision

There are better looking dekes as formentioned, GHG, but G&H will hold up much longer. I'm a fan of both and do own both brands. Just my opinion.

Plainsman

I am set on G+H, I've heard a lot of good things about them and am willing to invest the extra money for them.

If I were you i'd buy the GHG hot buy mallards for $20 a dozen. I have a bunch of them, they look great, cost less, and hold up very well. Throughout last season I only have two or three dekes that have so much as a tiny flake of paint missing. I was shocked at how well they held up because i'm very, very rough on my decoys. I've never had any G&H so I can't help ya there, i'm kinda cheap I guess, I wouldn't pay more than about $30 for a dozen mallard decoys lol. Just my 2 cents.

You can't go wrong with G&H... I personally like the m4m mag pro's, those are what I use.

WHICH G+H

Postby MattM1 » Fri Jun 03, 2005 1:18 pm

Well thanks for all your advise, I finally went to the G+H web site and saw some good pics of their decoys. I really like the magnum pros and I think a 6 pack will do good for me. I also saw in Cabela's waterfowl catalog a pair of surface feeders anyone use these? I'm thinking the G+H mag pros with my two regular feeders (butts) and a pair of these surface feeders could be a pretty good spread any comments? (I don't use robos and usually only need 1 dozen or less). Thanks again everyone for all your help!!!!

Matt.

I wouldn't get the surface feeders... the G&H dekes with a pair of butts will do the job just fine. You may want to consider riggin' up a jerk string to add a little movement.

Yeah i'm getting some G&H decs for this season i'm getting the supermags simply because my buddy I hunt with has them and they are great decoys. They look good and seem to bring the ducks in. They are not the cheapest out there though for 12 you looking at about 99 bucks on cabelas.
