i hunted over 4 strings of suc geese in feb for snows in nebraska. they all tipped over in the wind... we were on a 12 acre pond and the strings had about 12 deks on each string. once one dek blew over, the whole string went. the outfitter was not happy....he had to keep going out and re setting the strings. each decoy has to be submerged on an angle to create the suction. i would say go for it if you are dry land hunting, but forget about water. these are not decoys that you simply toss out of the boat.

First off....if a "guide" is setting out long lines he should know if they will remain upright or not....I would question his abilities!!!! And who sets out long lines for geese? In addition, if you are tossing decoys, don't hunt with me! You place decoys.......they don't get wet, nor be iced over or shiny!!!!!! Think about it.

I do not own any but have hunted over the herters suc goose decoys and suc ducks. You have to set the decoys in such a way so that the suction occurs. Once you learn how to set them they will ride the water just as well as a regular herters.

One day I hunted with a friend and we were hunting in wild october weather. It was about 75 degrees with a 50 MPH wind. Those herters suc deeks never missed a beat, tipped over, or even came close to tipping. They rode great and made a believer out of me thats for sure.

Not sure I would like having to set them from a boat, but for the walk in hunter they are great.

I have some Sucduc goose decoys. Llike others said, place them on the water and they work well. I wouldn't want 100 sucduc decoys, but a dozen geese wouldn't be bad to work with. The move fine on the water. The one thing I don't like about them is its harder to wind the cord putting them away. I would rather have a keel to wind the cord and wrap the weight around the keel etc....
