snows with ducks

Postby texan68 » Wed Aug 10, 2005 6:03 pm

Looking to buy a half doz goose floaters to add to the duck spread this season. I know canadas will land with ducks....will snows? I rarely get canadas where I hunt, but regulary get small flocks of snows. Should I get canadas and hopefully the snows will come in. Or go with snows or specs????

In your situation I would go for the Snow's if they are more comon to your area. Dark geese will land with the light ones and the Snow's will sure show up a lot better from a distance.

I've shot snows and Ross geese over my mallard spread. I keep my snow call handy when hunting around here. They regulary come in and give the once or twice over. No problems with the Canada's coming either. I keep a call for them handy as well.

Hey, did you grab the blind bag with the shells when we left the truck?

We've killed snows over our mallard spread before. We had to work them for what seems like 5 or 10 minutes, but they finally got close enough for a shot. A few snow dekes would help out alot, IMO.
