Mid-way into the link above find an article about this. Every year the MCWCA spearheads an project where they gather up folks to hang new wood duck boxes and clean out old ones. This year, we will meet at Hurricane Landing on 225 and work on boxes in the Dennis Lake area. The article provides contact info.
Helpful items to bring are tall (12'-16') folding ladders (extension ladders don't work real well for this application), socket set, end wrenches, and crescent wrenches in the 1/2"-5/8" range, wasp spray, gloves, and pry bars and machetes (these help tear down old boxes and sometimes you have to clear a path to them).
This shindig will wrap up by lunch and they usually put on a pretty good feed. Last year I got paired with a couple of state biologists which was pretty cool.
Anyway, If you have spent the winter trying to bust up some wood ducks, here's a chance to help them out a little.
