Went on an afternoon hunt Saturday, didn't even need to bring ammo. Saw a couple redheads and buffleheads all way out of range.

Glad to hear you had some luck RL. Hopefully in a few more weeks we will start to see more birds down this way.

Decided to go to Guntersville this week end since the opener in mobile wasnt that great. Killed two gads, one hooded merganzer. I saw alot of birds, and had alot of birds work, but there were some live birds in the next pothole over. You cant buy a plastic bird that can compete with the real thing.

funny thing about sunday mornning was that we didnt do that great sat.so the guys that went with me decided to try the deer sun.i had about 40min. to hunt before work i figured i could at least kill a couple of woodies. right at shooting time about 25 teal came in and banked about 30 yds right in front of me i shot 3 times and killed 5 and crippled 1. the dog got the crip and i walked out in ankel deep water and picked up the other five.back at the truck at 6:20,the house at 6:30,work at 7:00. gotta love it  the only thing that could have made it better was if they would have been the larger variety of green.

Hunted the State's only draw hunt (that I know of) - should have had plenty of ducks but little things just keep going wrong. 3 guns, 3 ducks - 2 shovlers and 1 gadwall.

are yall seeing plenty of ducks up that way?its been really slow (big duck wise) down here this year so far.most of the time its not that hard to pick up grey ducks and the occasional mallard early in the season.this is probally the slowest ive seen it;except early 90's;in my 30yrs of hunting here.i guess thank goodness for woodies and teal!

Big ducks are rare, rare, rare. I buy a MS license as well as AL to get a crack as some Mallards each season.
