press release from the u.s. fish and wildlife service this mornning"record populations allow for an extra Canvasback in the bag in the Atlantic,Pacific,and Mississippi flyways this season."other than that it doesnt look like much else has changed since last season.

Yeah, it seems like just the other day when we had a 1 canvasback with the season being 1/2 that of the other ducks. I'm glad the numbers are up enough that they can raise the limit. The only thing is the only I've ever seen down here was during the closed half. It swam in and swam around in our decoys for about 1/2 an hour. We shot 2 ringnecks in 2 different flights while it was in our decoys and it still stayed. My buddy and I thought it must be a cripple that someone shot and then realized what it was and left it. However, when we ran to pick up our birds it flew off.
