Im looking for some opinions on local breeders in the Mobile/south Alabama/ western Florida area. Anyone have any suggestions? Color isn't really important. Im not trying to open an advertising forum, but just looking for some advice since I'm new to the area. Thanks

Thanks for the welcome.. Wow can't believe I forgot to put the breed. Im looking for Labs! My dad got a "pointing lab" or at least thats what the guy told him he was. Supposedly this type of lab is also bred to point upland birds. To be honest he's a great pet but not that great of a hunter. Have you ever heard of a "pointing lab" if so are you giving up some retrieving ability for pointing ability? thanks

There are some quality breeders in the state. I'm fond of a kennel in North Alabama, DixieBrit Gundogs....Tim is a friend, but the nature of his dogs, their pedigrees, and the way he went about establishing a kennel are great. They aren't for all hunters, but if you want truly British lab qualities, then give them a shout. He has made trips to England, Ireland, etc. buying and importing exellent sires and dams and the results are just what you'd expect to see if the dogs were still in England....true to that particular form, drive, and temperment.
Here's a thought: Let the ducks work and decoy.
