P-tarm time

Postby akbrett » Tue Nov 29, 2005 7:16 pm

I did all of my p-tarm hunting up around Fairbanks. Does anyone know of some areas within an hour or so drive of Anchorage? I'm looking for something to do during the week with my son (17 mo. old). I have got to get out and do some wingshooting again.

Out here near where I live (Eklutna area) we have a few 4 wheeler trails you can go down by. I fergit the Unit and subunit it is called (for ADF&G), but I will try to git that fer ya.

When you are going In-Bound on the Glenn, (from Wassilla area)it is right next to the big "Welcome to Chugiak" sign. If you walk over the guardrails there should be a path somewhere insight.

I havnt been there in a couple of years so my directions might not be perfect.... but they should be close.

Im gunna go and chek out the area sometime soon too

PS- lemme know if you need anymore details :salude:

I didn't get a chance to go out there this year. I know where Stouff is talking about though, as that is where I used to go when I was going to high school. I live on the S. end of Anchorage now and was looking for somewhere on this side of town where I could get out with the snowshoes and get a little exercise and maybe a few birds. Funny thing happens with kids though, you don't always get to do the things you'd like.

I need to look at the Regs one more time.

I used to go hunting there all the time, and went just a few weeks ago. But realized i might not be on the right side of the river  It might be native land....

Ill look into it

OK my bad i reread your post and realized it said on the right side of the road which would be the one right before mirror lake exit. That looks like a good spot, i just need to take some time off a work so i can get out.
