A few from today...

Postby OneLunG » Mon Sep 20, 2010 10:55 pm

Took a buddy out today to the flats who has never hunted here before....Was just showing him a few of my spots that I like to hunt and how to hunt them..

The weather was not in our favor...Clear sunny and hot....The tide was also not in our favor, so it was more of just a walk.

Anyways....the pictures.....

Ha! Great pics Jake. That lab looks to be in high spirts, even with all those quills! :lol3:

I hear ya on the crazy weather. This weekend feels like normal duck weather... Wind, rain and a nice high tide! :hammer:

Yeah, its a nice change...though working in it sucks.

I think we are going to try to hit the flats on Monday and Tuesday and hunt the high tide.....We'll see what it brings...

Well, how'd you do? I just flew into town and always see all those birds on the flats. Unfortunately I'll be working everyday, dang days are getting shorter.

I live in Washington and used to work for the "air group". Been to Juneau twice, loved it both times. Mendenhall glacier is beautiful. That said I never would have thought of Juneau to be a duck hunting paradise, at least not for puddle ducks, I could see sea ducks but not puddlers. That's awesome, except for the porky, my four legged daughter has "found" 3 of them over the years. Her daddy got even with them though. How's the sea duck hunting around Juneau? Any guide/charters to recommend?
Why does work always get in the way of hunting?

That wind storm on Saturday was AWESOME. I haven't had so many birds want to be where I was in my life. Shot two teal right off the bat but decided to let the rest pass and focus on bigger birds.

Did you shoot the porcupine? I would have dropped it. My dog got a mouthful, but only once.
Cut Um!
Real ducks don't have a competition sequence they follow! Hint, hint!
