I thought I would say Hi

Postby the.hines » Thu Jul 20, 2006 10:15 am

Hello, all you Alaska duck hunters. I am new to this site and I thought I would intduce myself. Shawn Hines, 25, Cordova Ak, USCG, been duck hunting before I could pick up a gun. Most of my hunting has been in Stuttgart, Ark in flooded timber and Rice fields. Grew up farming and now I work on large diesel engines for the Coast Guard.

I have been in Cordova for a year now and I have one season left here.

All my hunting is mainly done by jump shooting on the tidal mud flats, but I get to do a little decoying.

If you are in the area give me a call I onll have one duck hunting partner, He is my Black lab, Cooper. I am sure that I will be sending out pictures of him some day....

Shawn there will be a guy coming up there soon and he is bringing his mud boat up there. Check out the Duck Hunters Refuge for the Alaska Flyway and you can see his messages.

I will be passing through Cordova at the end of July on my way to a site on Hinch for work. I may have to come back in the fall for a few days and might have to "miss my flight" back to Anchorage so that I can get in a visit.

AkRay- Thanks I think I will try and get ahold of this guy. He is comeing to the same boat that I am on. I can tell him what to bring and what not to bring. I maybe leaving before he gets he so that kind of sucks, maybe missing out a good hunting partner.

Anytime we are in town we can hit a guick hunt. I dont have a boat here so most of it is jump shooting... I have been decoying the tides but they are pretty fast around here.

Anchorage is a nice town is there anywhere to hunt around there. My wife needs a reason to come into town and go shopping....??? She might let me come over this season.
