Well, I made my first outting since I've been back.

Came home to clean my shotgun and discovered a pin in the chamber had rusted out, DOH! No worries though, thats why I've got about 2 other shotguns plus some good friends.

We ended up going out looking to score some puddle ducks, Success was mild, the birds were just moving in way to large of groups and wanted to stick to big water.

We did however manage to score 3 Widgeon and a hen Buff. Not bad, but not great. The best part was getting my lab out who hasnt been able to get out yet, and let me tell ya, she did great!

Since this was my first trip of the season I didnt manage to get any pictures, however, this is just the FIRST trip, so there are definately more to come :)

Yeah!

Forecast is bad for sea-duckin tomorrow....Decided to go see if we cant get ourselves a deer instead. Just got a light coating of new snow at sea-level, and from what I hear, the rut is still on. Should be a good show...

Work man work! Been busy busting drug dealers and kids trying to break into schools :P

On a hunting note - Just got my jet put on my boat, going out this saturday after some sea-ducks, then head over to the flats for some puddle actions if we do well on the sea-ducks....I've been slackin on the picture part....If we do get out (which I'm almost certain we will.) I'll be taking the digital camera and camcorder :P

Went out day after Thanksgiving and knocked down three. One sailed out and became seal bait.

The geese never saw it coming though, it was AWESOME! :hammer:

Went out again Sunday and there were 5 or 6 guys out on the flats by the river. Someone else was sitting on the west side of the river and sky-busting the heck out of them as they came over Mendenhall Peninsula  . They were very wary and stayed out of the shallows between the flats and the islands.

Bummer!

Well, like I said, right now the plan is for saturday, terrorize the sea-ducks in the morning, then head back to the flats and see what we can stir up...

How'd you do today Onelung? (Now I officially sound like a broken record... )

I had everything packed and ready to go last night when I realized my kayak cart had a flat tire. An hours worth of trying to patch the tube and no luck  , so I slept in this morning

Hope everyone on the flats did well at opening light. There was supposed to be a State Trooper out there to deal with yahoos shooting 15 minutes early on Sat.

I talked to two different groups leaving the flats and they were PISSED at whom ever it was. They had hunches and made sure the troopers were aware. One guy was surrounded by geese as they had practically belly crawled out to the point, just to have them flushed by the jerks.

Went out on saturday with the newish engine on the boat. 3 of us went out, and met up with 3 other of our buddies....

We ended the day with 55 sea-ducks between 6 guys. Just 5 short of a full limit. If we'd have shot better we would have been limited out, but that and the fact that we ran out of shells hampered things.

I unfortunately did not get any pictures as my wife wanted the camera for saturday, but I did get a few minutes worth of video. I plan on going out again this week, and possibly saturday, so when I get some more video I'll work on a compilation for ya :)
