Well, today is the day of truth. From the comments brought in yesterday, it seems like Nancy Hillstrand and people that refer to sea duck hunting as a "slaughter" sent in a lot of last minute letters. Let's hope the BOG sees some logic and keeps the limits with the 10 ducks per day for residents and 8 for non-residents. A lot of the letters are from people that claim to be duck hunters but obviously are not. Kinda entertaining, yet scary to read if you have the time. This evening we'll find out the final verdict.

Above is the Summary of Actions taken on the teleconference on the Sea Ducks in the K-Bay area.

Quote:
For these reasons, the board 1) acted to delay the implemetation date of Proposal 117 to July 1, 2010, and 2) decided to bring the proposal back before the board during its January 2010 meeting in Anchorage for addtional public review.

So the limits will be the same as last year and I'll try to make it to the Anchorage meeting if work allows. Thank you to all that signed the petition and wrote letters. Sea duck hunting is safe in Homer for another season.
