Almost that time!

Well boys, its almost that time again...

Time to start cleaning the guns, getting the decoys in order, patching the waders if they've got leaks...

Though duck season starts 15 days later this year down here in Juneau, I cannot wait. Time to rule the seaduck grounds once again!

I called Fish and Game the other day to make sure they understood how important it is to get the word out about the season change.

There are going to be a lot of tickets on the flats if Fish and Game doesn't step up and make an effort to inform hunters. In my opinion they need signs at EVERY entry point, at dredge lakes and at Western Auto, Fred's and Rayco :fingerpt:

I'm worried about the anti hunting homeowners around the flats having one more reason to limit hunting

Yeah, a lot of people I've talked to dont even realize its changed.

The only reason I knew it did was because of forums like this, and AOD....

I talked with Ryan Scott at Fish and Game and he's on top of informing the public.

He's been on Capitol Chat, sent out news releases to all the license vendors, he's going to call them all again this week and he's going to put up signs at all the public access points around the Mendenhall Refuge :clapping:

I was very pleased to hear that he's being so proactive

The only sad note is there won't be a waterfowl seminar this year. The last couple years had dismal turn outs, so they've taken a year off, but hope to start a new program that's family oriented with fun stuff to do to re-energize the program.

I remember doing that when I was younger...I dug it....Especially patterning my shotgun, and trying my luck at the clays...

Good to know they are being proactive....Hopefully this year will be an awesome year for Duck Hunting..

Let me know if you wanna try some sea-ducking....We rock their world...

Hahaha, ya, it's been fun so far. The maden voyage was kind of short. :lol3: I'm fixing issues from that first run, plus waiting for some more parts. I should have it ready for opening day thanks to the two week extension.
