Anybody care to post your season tally?

Postby mr.smith » Mon Jan 28, 2008 1:29 pm

I had a decent season, didn't get out for quail as much as I would have liked. Looking at my log from this year and last I am starting to realize that October 25-November 25 is a complete waste of time. I had about ten hunts in a row with no shots fired during that period this year. Similar results last year.

My totals:
89 Doves
48 Ducks
1 Canada Goose
2 Gambels Quail
That's Quacktastic!

Nobody said we were supposed to keep track  I know there are 14 ducks on their way to the taxidermist though.

21 this season. only went out 8 times. Its getting to be more of a hastle every time out. I meet more idiots and rude people. Fortunately there are still some good guys around.

Next season I will break the century mark, thats the goal. I'll have a full summer and fall to scout. And if I keep with my current carreer there isn't much going on in december.

I've got a spoonie and a GWT in the freezer, I am making plans for a late season texas trip for a BWT, and need a real nice Cinnie next year for to make the ultimate teal mount. The spoonie will have be a nice mount just don't know what to do with it yet.
Have you ever woke up one day and said. Damn when does the season start.

I started keeping track because I get the survey in the mail after every season. Every bird, species and sex(ducks) is logged into my journal. Plus I don't "group hunt", I'm not a, "as long as there are 14 ducks at the end" kind of guy. I shoot my ducks, if I limit before my partner then I just call for him. I find it pretty irresponsible to not keep track. That is how overlimits happen. Plus I'm pretty sure most of you can count to seven.

I'm an audio tech, I can't count past 3, which makes things simple, I don't shoot more than 3 very often. LOL

well well well. different board, same guys. i just happened to be bored out of my mind and found this board. looks like a cool place to post and i'm always interested in season totals. i had a decent year. killed about 40 mallards which is my season high. total for the season was 98 ducks and one big fat honker that mr smith had a lot to do with. all ducks were killed fairly close to home. i almost forgot. one of the greenheads was banded and it was a ten year old band from montana. now that i typed it, the season was better than decent. can't wait to do it all over again this season
