Here's my totals:

1 Gadwall drake
2 Widgeon drakes
2 GWT drakes
1 Common Merganser hen

I didn't start hunting this season till Jan. 3, and usually only got out 1 morning each week. I saw birds for the most part each day, but just not many each day. Hopefully I can get out more next season and find some better spots, but was more than satisfied with how I did after not hunting for over 12 years.

Gadwall 19 (13 drakes)
BWTeal 4 (2 drakes)
GWTeal 6 (2 drakes)
Cinnamin Teal 2 (1 drake)
Wigeon 9 (5 drakes)
Redhead 8 (4 drakes)
Shovelers 12 (7 drakes)
Mallard 2 (1 drake)
Ringneck 1 (drake)
Bufflehead 1 (hen)
Pintail 2 (drakes)

Canada Geese 2

Total: 67 ducks, 2 coots, 2 geese, too many cripples (7-10), and way too many misses :help: , a bunch of shoulda's, woulda's and coulda's.

AZ Big Water hunting: decoys, spinning wings, flags, canoes, kayaks, walk-in w/waders, a couple trips in a big boat that sticks out and lots of calling (no dog, no jumping, no pass shooting...not judging others :hammer: and not bragging :grooving: ).

My goal this year is to journal my trips for future reference. Seeing the other post, I can not compare other results to my own, just the memory.

Hey guys. I'm new to Arizona and I live in Phoenix. I have lived in Iowa for 23 years and hunted most of my life for upland birds and waterfowl. I really would like to continue doing this if at all possible. I see that you guys actually got out and shot some birds. If either of you guys had advice where to hunt it would be more than appreciated. I don't even know where to start. I have tried to do some extensive research on where and how to hunt but I haven't had much luck. Any help would would be great, and if any of you would be interested in a hunting buddy I am currently without a partner. Thanks and I look forward to hearing from some of you Az guys.

Matt
